Evelyn Salt is a CIA agent who is being chased by agents within the CIA after she is accused of being a sleeper agent from Russia. She claims that she is innocent, and tries to escape so that she can find her husband because she is afraid for his life.

If you don't think overmuch about the plot of this film, you will really enjoy it. Yes, sometimes plot is necessary to a film, but this one makes up for that by throwing all sorts of action your way (and there is plenty of it).

I had hoped that by telling us that Salt was a Russian sleeper agent, the writers were only trying to throw us off so that we would be able to find out something else completely fantastic about who she really was. Turns out, she was pretty much exactly what they said that she was. She was really sent to America as a sleeper. The only real twist with her character was that she fell in love and it changed her so that she no longer wanted to help bring the war between Russian and America that those in charge of her would have wanted to happen.

There was only really one twist at the end that I didn't see coming, even though I probably could have if I had been paying more attention to the clues that were given. And there was one character (by the name of Peabody) who was a bit too much of a cliché, but who is played by such a fantastic actor that this can be forgiven.

Overall, the action was really great, and you'll enjoy it if you don't think too much about what the plot is lacking.
