This is a dark fantasy and reinterpretation of the folktale of Little Red Riding Hood.

I'll admit that when I first heard about this movie, and heard that Leo was going to be involved with producing it, I was a bit leery. I'm not much of a fan of his, so his involvement in it was almost enough to make me not want to see it. But when I saw previews for it, I was intrigued and rather eager to find out if it was as good as the preview made it look like it might be.

I've always loved the story of Red Riding Hood, and have always had a bit of a love affair with her. The fact that her story is so very changeable (while still staying fantastically true to her core) is fantastic, and this movie works so very well at playing with both of these.

The story was not only fast paced, but it kept you interested in what was happening. And while it looks like it could possibly be a bit scary (just from the way that the previews appear), it wasn't (it was more suspenseful than frightening).

The only thing that I can say about the film in a negative form is that I not only figured out who the werewolf was near the beginning of the film, but also why the first two murders happened. This isn't to say that being able to figure it out made it less enjoyable, because it didn't (it actually made it a bit more fun in a way).

I'd say to check it out, even if it means going to see it at full price.
